Genetics and Parenting

Recent studies have now been able to explain genetically why certain species are better parents than others. This research is looking into genes and parenting between different species. The scientist were able to figure out that not only are there genes that are associated with behaviors in male and females but genes that contribute to vasopressin also is tied with parenting. This may be the first time parenting and gene are being said they are related. The injection of the hormone vasopressin actually decreased nest building in parents but still doesn't necessarily mean that hormone is a direct factor of parenting.
