According to Genetics, Mammals May be More Like the Father

   paternalgenes
Researchers have studied the parents' affects on the offspring gene make-up.  So far, studies have proved that the gene expression was derived more from the father than the mother.  This was done by taking Collaborative Cross, a population of mice that are the most genetically diverse in the world, were interbred.  This happened until there were nine different types of offspring.  When the offspring reached adulthood, gene expression was measured and quantified how much was expressed from each parent.  Consistently, the gene expression originated from the father's genes.

Many believe that if there is a mutation which is passed down from the mother, it will not be expressed as much as it would if passed down from the father.
